Napakaraming dinaya ni Zacchaeus pero nung pumasok ang Panginoon sa kanyang buhay, hindi na siya nagpatumpik-tumpik. Nagpasya agad siya, “Lord,na-realize ko ang tama. Lahat ng dinaya ko babayaran ko, may interest.” Marangal ang mga taong bumabawi agad sa kanilang mga atraso.

May naanakan ka na kung sinong waitress, siempre hindi mo naman mapapakasalan dahil may asawa ka na, panagutan mo man lang yung mga gastos. At aminin mo sa asawa mo. Psalm 35:12-15

They repay evil for good, and I feel all alone. When they were sick, I wore sackcloth and went without food. I truly prayed for them, as I would for a friend or a relative. I was in sorrow and mourned, as I would for my mother. I have stumbled, and worthless liars I don’t even know surround me and sneer.

Isang malaking kasalanan ang pagsukli ng masama sa ginagawang mabuti sa atin ng ating kapwa. Ang sama ng loob ng umaawit ng Psalm 35 ay nangyayari pa rin hanggang ngayon. Huwag nating lilimutin ang mga mabuting nagawa sa atin ng tao. At huwag nating bayaran ng masama ang mga kabutihang ito, lalo na sa panahon ng kanyang kahinaan.

Proverbs 22:4

Respect and serve the LORD! Your reward will be wealth, a long life, and honor.

Ang makahulugang buhay ay masaya, makulay at walang maraming multong kinakatakutan. Humble people have a higher quality of life because they have less tension. Why is it important to remain humble in spite of success? Because our success is not our own doing but a product of many people’s contributions. Walang nagtatagumpay na mag-isa lang. Kung iniisip nating naging matagumpay tayo dahil lamang sa sariling sikap, hindi yun totoo. Puede ba tayong magtagumpay kung walang nagbigay sa atin ng pagkakataon, or kung hindi tayo in-endorse o ipinakilala sa ibang tao? Maging mapagpakumbaba, because success is also only a matter of time and chance. May mga tao talagang sinuswerte lang at yung iba ay minamalas. Nagkakataon na tayo ay nasa tamang lugar at tamang panahon.

Hindi rin guarantee na ang isang taong successful ay laging ligtas at masaya. Kung kailan lumaki yung bahay at nagkarehas, dun ka pa nakulong at nasunog sa loob. Yung mga nakatira sa barung-barong, tatalon lang sa giba-gibang bintana, nakakatakbo agad. Kung kailan nagka-sports car, dun pa naaksidente. Nakabili ng extra condo dahil sa dami ng pera, naibahay tuloy ang querida doon. At paano tayo nakakatiyak na ang ating tagumpay ay hindi babawiin?

Huwag din nating lilimutin that success is not a guarantee of morality or righteousness; it is a favor from God. Even when we are sometimes ungodly, God in his graciousness still favors us with success. Kaya, it is important that we remain grounded.

If you have to work hard for a living, you can rest well at night, even if you don’t have much to eat. But if you are rich, you can’t even sleep.

Pagka pagod na pagod ang katawan mo sa pagtatrabaho, one thing is sure. Pag higa mo, tulog ka na agad. Di ba ang sarap nun? Samantalang may mga mayayaman na palibhasa’y hindi napapagod, ang dami-dami pang siesta time, hindi patang-pata ang katawan, ang tagal nang nakahiga hindi pa makatulog.

Bihira kang makakita ng kapwa nating mahirap na nakahiga na nang matagal ay hindi pa tulog. Usually hindi pa nga nakalapat ang likod, naghihilik na. And it’s a blessing to be able to sleep well. Daig mo pa ang mayaman kahit nakahiga ka lang sa sako ng mais. Unan-unan mo pa ang isang kabang bigas o isang buwig ng saba. E di ba ganun yung mga tindera sa palengke pag alas dos ng hapon? Pag matumal ang benta, hihiga na lang bigla at ibubuwal yung sarili nila sa V-meg Feeds o kaya isusubsob nila ang mukha sa isang salop na mani, tulug na tulog. Yun ang blessing.

Hard work is a blessing to those who have to work hard because it ensures that you will sleep well. And sleeping well is a form of wealth that many wealthy people don’t enjoy. Possessing does not guarantee enjoyment or happiness. In fact, possessing could be a terrible burden. So you do not have to own something to enjoy it. Many best things in life are free. Maraming blessing na inilaan ang Dios para sa lahat, hindi lang sa mga mayayaman.

Pay attention to advice and accept correction, so you can live sensibly.

Mahalagang tumatanggap tayo ng turo, pero dapat ina-advertise pa rin natin sa ating sariling paraan na puede tayong turuan. Hindi komo mas matanda tayo, ayaw na nating paturo. Noong araw kasi na hindi pa uso ang mga eskuwelahan, yung mas matanda ay mas marami talagang alam. Talagang pagka ikaw ang pinakamatanda usually ikaw yung pinakamarunong. Pero hindi na yun ngayon totoo because of the information available to so many young people that are not available to many old people. Kaya nga, dapat willing tayo na maturuan at matuto. Kaya minsan magandang makakita ng isang lola na nagpapaturo sa kanyang apo na mag-text. Kasi it is a recognition na may alam ang isang bata na hindi alam ng matanda.

People must be teachable. Hindi yung pag may magsasalita para mag-suggest, dini-discourage natin agad sa pamamagitan ng ating salita, ng ating sungit, o ng ating facial expression. “Tapos ka na ba? Kasi kahit sampung beses mong sabihin sa akin yan, walang effect sa akin yan.” Hindi ganyan ang mga aasenso sa buhay. Kailangang makinig din tayo. We should listen even to ideas that oppose our own ideas. And in the end, after listening, ipanalangin natin, magbulay-bulay tayo, limiin kung kayang lunukin o hindi. Walang kwenta yung nagsisimula pa lang magsalita ang isa, sasabihan kaagad na, “Alam ko na yan.” Pag ganyan ang ating ugali, walang mga taong magiging malapit sa atin. Puro hello, goodbye. Ganun lagi kabilis ang mga conversation kasi hindi tayo masarap kausap.
