In order to overcome fear of illness, be as healthful and healthy as you can. Surround yourself with healthful ways and means of living. Eat well and eat correctly. Noong nilikha ng Dios ang tao, ang orihinal na pagkain na talagang itinakda ng Panginoon ay mga prutas, mga dahon, at bungang galing sa halaman. Plant and plant products are for food for both humans and animals. There’s a great advantage in eating plants or plant products. Derecho ang mga ito sa food chain. All of you surely know that you are God’s temple and that his Spirit lives in you. Together you are God’s holy temple, and God will destroy anyone who destroys his temple.
But the Son of Man goes around eating and drinking, and you say, “That man eats and drinks too much! He is even a friend of tax collectors and sinners.”
Maski kailan hindi natin nakitang nag-ayuno ang Panginoong Hesus except for the forty days when he was being tried by the devil. He focused on the trial or on whatever he was doing, but elsewhere he was always eating and drinking. Kaya nga tinawag siyang “matakaw” at “lasenggo” ng kanyang mga kritiko na laging nag-aayuno. Ini-equate ng maraming tao yung kabanalan sa pag-aayuno. Pinasasama nila ang pag-eenjoy. Sa kanila ang pagiging maka-Dios ay bawal tumawa, bawal umuga ang katawan kahit may tugtog, bawal pumalakpak, bawal sumayaw, bawal ang lahat. Dapat na malungkot ka para matuwa ang Dios.
Don’t destroy yourself by getting drunk, but let the Spirit fill your life.
Minsan, may mga well-meaning friends tayo na kapag dumadaan tayo sa isang masakit at mapait na karanasan, ang ipinapayo sa atin ay maglasing. Sabi nila, “Forget your pain by getting drunk.” Pero ano talaga ang nangyayari? Kapag natapos na ang pagkalasing, kapag wala na ang hangover at nakainom na ng kape, bumabalik ulit yung pain. Ang totoo nyan kapag labis kayong uminom ng alak, sasakit lang ang ulo nyo pagkatapos masisira ang inyong atay, magkakagastos pa kayo, pero pag nahimasmasan kayo, nandoon pa rin ang problema. Madalas nga, nadadagdagan pa dahil minsan yung mga nag-iinuman ay nagsasaksakan nung lasing na. Dumadami lalo ang problema.
Don’t be a heavy drinker or stuff yourself with food. It will make you feel drowsy and you will end up poor with only rags to wear.
